On 21 November, the ConcePTION consortium gathered for our celebratory close-out event in Brussels. During the event, we reflected on our achievements and charted a bold course for the future. At the heart of the event was the unveiling of ConcePTION’s 10-in-10 initiatives: a roadmap to address unmet needs over the next decade.
During the opening remarks at the event, Niklas Blomberg, Executive Director of the Innovative Health Initiative (IHI), captured the essence of our project: “ConcePTION for me is a wonderful example of what a public-private partnership is at its core: bringing together expertise from diverse experts and organisations, and directing that expertise to address a public health need.” Miriam Sturkenboom, coordinator of the ConcePTION project, added: “This is a testament to what collaboration can achieve”, thereby expressing her gratitude to all contributors who made these advances possible.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of ConcePTION’s 10-in-10 proposals for policy that can improve access to accurate and reliable information about medicine safety in the coming ten years. Priorities included establishing a pan-European breast milk biobank, developing harmonized global frameworks, and scaling up the MUMS knowledge bank. These initiatives aim to solidify the project’s legacy and ensure its methodologies and tools remain a cornerstone of research and public health. The presentation of the ten initiatives were followed by a panel discussion between Anick Bérard (University of Montréal), Corinne de Vries (EMA), Magda Chlebus (EFPIA), and Nathalie Seigneuret (IMI2).
During the lunch break, the participants had the opportunity to network and visit showcase booths highlighting the different key project outputs. Do you want to know more about the outcomes of the ConcePTION project? Take a look at our results!
