The ConcePTION project is designing and building a lasting ecosystem of data collections, methods, people and infrastructures, that allow generation and dissemination of evidence on medicine safety in pregnancy and lactation. Addressing a knowledge gap for mothers and health care professionals, impacting more than 5 million women across the European Union that get pregnant every year. Join us on 15 February at 15:00 CET to learn how the ConcePTION is bridging this gap in an efficient, systematic and ethically responsible way!
To be able to make informed decisions about treatment and care, women and their doctors need evidence. But only 5% of the medicines that are licensed have information in the label on safety of the medicine during pregnancy and breastfeeding. In the webinar, we will present the project and what we have achieved so far!
ConcePTION brings together 88 organizations across Europe, united in the belief that we have an important societal obligation to radically and rapidly reduce uncertainty about the effects of medication used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The consortium has worked for more than 3 years and is ready to show the design and achievements.
Together, Miriam Sturkenboom, Professor of Real World Evidence at UMC Utrecht & Coordinator of the ConcePTION project, and Project Leader Dr. Michael Steel, Senior Advisor, Chief Medical Office, Global Drug Development, Novartis Pharma AG, and Marjolein Willemen, Medical Policy and External Collaborations Lead, Novartis Pharma, will explain how the project is generating, cataloguing, linking, collecting and analysing data from pharmacovigilance, modelling, routine healthcare, and collecting and analysing breastmilk samples through a large European network. Bringing together 88 stakeholder partners, joining forces to address our societal obligation to radically and rapidly reduce uncertainty about the effects of medication used during pregnancy and breastfeeding!
